“Typhonix AS is an example of a company that has completed a total journey from idea and thorough research and development to commercialization and exit,” said Stavanger Mayor Tormod W. Losnedal, when he presented the award to Niels van Teeffelen, CEO of Typhonix, on behalf of the Rogalands Research Foundation.
Typhonix received establishment assistance in 2006 from the innovation company Validé, which has also invested in the company. Typhonix has had several private investors, and has received financial support from both the Research Council of Norway and Innovation Norway. In 2018, Typhonix received the ONS innovation award for SME companies.
The Research and Innovation Award is awarded on the basis of a fund that was established by the Rogaland Research Foundation, NHO Rogaland and Rogaland County Municipality. The Rogaland Research Foundation has subsequently taken over responsibility for the fund and the award ceremony. The aim is to stimulate competence development, industry-oriented research and regional industrial development.
